MasterLectures Mobile App

We recently discussed the streaming platform for biblical and theological content from Zondervan. Now, Zondervan has announced the release of their new mobile app for iOS and Android.

MasterLectures Mobile App

I have downloaded the app and dove in — whether you are already subscribed to MasterLectures or not, you should get it too. There’s a free 7 day trial for you to give it a shot, but my guess is that you’ll be hooked.

The app is well designed. I don’t just mean it’s pretty; it’s truly a good user experience.

Things are where you would expect them to be, and it’s thoroughly easy on the eyes (even the colors aren’t abrasive, and lean toward low-light situations, though there is a light theme as well).

It syncs with the web app, so you can pick up where you left off in your videos. And maybe best of yet, you can download lectures to your device and watch offline. This is a game changer for a mobile data-miser like me.

There is one improvement to the app that I covet: users should be able to turn off their phones and have the audio still play. To be able to treat the videos like podcasts would be ideal.
